Is there a risk of tissue loss (necrosis) with nipple-sparing top surgery?

Since blood supply is maintained through the tissue pedicle, the risk of complete necrosis is lower than with a free graft. Yes, a reduction of the areola is easily possible during the procedure. However, the height of the nipple itself can only be reduced to a limited extent, as the internal blood supply must be preserved. What does the scar pattern look like after a nipple-sparing top surgery?
